Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. After Breakfast at your Hotel you will be welcomed and briefed about your Safari by Gari Trips female guide and you will travel South-West to Lake Mburo National Park. You will break your 4 hour journey at the Equator crossing for some pictures and lunch. The park is a gem with a number of grazers but less in the big 5 count. It is covered with extensive acacia woodlands, this park is one of the best places in the country to enjoy a walking or biking safari and see the giant eland antelope, zebras, Giraffes, Buffalos etc... Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock. Day 2 Walking Safari Have breakfast and enjoy a day in the park. With no dangerous predators such as lions, Lake Mburo is the best place to go on a guided safari by foot, bike or horse. We shall take an extensive walk, supplemented by a short drive. This will be in guidance of an armed ranger. From the walk we return to the lodge have lunch, take a swim and relax here. Dinner and Overnight at Rwakobo Rock Day 3 Transfer to Rushaga Today after breakfast with our packed lunch we drive to the Kigezi Highlands, perhaps the most fertile and scenic region of Uganda. A landscape of expansive blue lakes, steep terraced slopes and dormant volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. Day 4 Gorilla trekking Rise and shine, have breakfast and carry packed lunch. You probably get up in the dark for an experience of a life time. Today you will be trekking the rare mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi’s mist-covered, forested hills protect an estimated over 480 mountain gorillas, roughly half of the global population. This includes 19 habituated groups which can be tracked. You will start from Rushaga trail head, and guides and rangers will lead on the expedition. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge Day 5 Tree Climbing Lions Ishasha Sector After breakfast, drive from Bwindi to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area features beautiful savannah landscapes with cactus, fig, and acacia trees, ideal for wildlife viewing. Spend the evening exploring the plains and spotting animals such as elephants, Topis, buffaloes, Kobs, Tree climbing lions, leopards, and hyenas. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Topi Lodge Ishasha. Day 6 Explore Kazinga Channel with a Boat Trip. After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive while heading to the northern part of the park. Check in at your lodge, have a hot lunch, and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This channel, known for having the highest hippo population in Africa, also offers sightings of African elephants, Cape buffaloes, waterbucks, various birds, and Nile crocodiles. Dinner and overnight stay at Bush Lodge Day 7 Experiential Game Drive – Transfer to Kibale Forest After early Breakfast at the lodge, we shall have an experiential game drive in Kasenyi area to explore more of this beautiful park thereafter we shall depart to Kibale Forest National Park. An experiential game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park is not just a safari; it’s an immersive adventure that brings you closer to the heart of the wild. Unlike traditional game drives, this personalized experience focuses on exploring the park's hidden gems and observing wildlife behavior up close. Accompanied by an expert ranger guide, you'll venture into exclusive areas of the park, tracking lions, elephants, leopards, and other iconic animals in their natural environment. Learn about the intricate ecosystems, the unique habits of the wildlife, and the fascinating history of the park. Dinner and Overnight at Turaco Treetops. Day 8 Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Community Visit On this day, you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share 98% of human genes making them our closest living relatives. Today in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild. The chimpanzee trekking experience here is done on several well maintained walking trails. There is also a wonderfully diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa. Besides our delightful cousins, the chimpanzees, you can find red Colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey (Ugandan Gabey), blue monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, and the black and white Colobus monkey. In addition, you may see olive baboons, bush babies and nocturnal potts. Dinner and Overnight at Turaco Treetops Day 9 Visit Sempaya hot springs After a delicious breakfast, head to the Sempaya hot springs, the most captivating feature in Semuliki. The springs feature a geyser that erupts from an 8-meter hole with very hot water. Notably, you can boil matooke and eggs in the springs. As the largest hot spring in Uganda, it’s a unique experience. Along the trail, you may spot birds like the Blue-breasted Kingfisher and primates such as red-tailed monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel. Day 10 Bike Safari / Tooro Kingdom Palace Visit On this Day after Breakfast embark on an exciting bike safari in Fort Portal, exploring the stunning crater lakes and the scenic countryside. Pedal through lush landscapes and banana plantations, stopping to admire the serene beauty of the crater lakes and the breathtaking views they offer. Your journey also takes you to the historic Tooro Kingdom Palace, a symbol of cultural pride and heritage. Learn about the rich history of the Tooro Kingdom as you take in the magnificent architecture and panoramic views of Fort Portal. This active and immersive experience combines adventure, nature, and culture for an unforgettable day. Dinner and Overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel Day 11 Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Today, we embark on an exciting journey to Murchison Falls Conservation Area, Uganda's largest and most iconic wildlife sanctuary. This breath-taking park boasts a diverse landscape, with sprawling grassland acacia savannahs in the north and lush tropical forests in the south. You will stop at Hoima Cultural Centre for Lunch and embark on you trip to Murchison Falls. As you cross the Nile to the northern section of the park, the wildlife spectacle unfolds. Expect to encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and perhaps a pride of lions or a stealthy leopard. A slow-paced game drive ensures you won’t miss any of the action. After a thrilling day, retreat to you lodge, where you can unwind by the pool, soaking in the golden hues of a stunning sunset with the serene backdrop of Lake Albert. This experience combines adventure, relaxation, and the untamed beauty of Uganda, leaving you with memories to treasure forever. Dinner and Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge. Day 12 – Afternoon Boat Trip to the Bottom of the Water Falls. On this Day after Lunch, you’ll embark on a serene cruise along the river, offering a front-row seat to one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife shows. The journey takes you to the base of the thunderous Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge, creating a breathtaking cascade of water and mist. Along the way, marvel at the incredible variety of wildlife that thrives along the riverbanks. Spot elephants cooling off in the shallows, hippos lounging in pods, and crocodiles basking on the riverbanks. Keep your binoculars ready for birdwatching, as the area is a haven for species like the African fish eagle, kingfishers, and possibly the rare shoebill stork. After your boat trip to the base of the stunning Murchison Falls, you will continue the adventure with an evening game drive. As the sun sets, the park comes alive with activity—spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and antelopes grazing, while lions and leopards begin their nightly prowls. The golden hour offers breathtaking views and unforgettable wildlife encounters, making it the perfect way to end your day in Murchison Falls National Park. Dinner and Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge Day 13 – Top of the Falls Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Start your day with a visit to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular display of power and beauty. Feel the mist on your face and take in the breathtaking views of this natural wonder. Afterward, journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can encounter rhinos in their natural habitat. Enjoy a guided trek through the sanctuary, getting up close to these magnificent creatures while learning about ongoing conservation efforts. This combination of adventure and wildlife makes for an unforgettable experience. Dinner and Overnight at Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch. Day 14 - Transfer Back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport Depending on your Flight. END OF SAFARI

All bookings made with GARI TRIPS are subject to these terms. Price of trip includes: Private Ground transport (car and fuel in 4*4), Safari guide, entry cost to all parks mentioned in the itinerary, all activities mentioned (Permits, Boat Cruise, and Game Drives), Accommodation Based on Bed & Breakfast. This is if nothing else has been agreed. Price does not include: International flights (unless special agreement), visa fees, beverages, items of personal use and tips. Adjustments after booking: If you want to make changes in your itinerary after booking we will arrange for this if it is possible. Note that the dates for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking cannot be adjusted after booking. Changes in itinerary: In the case of unforeseen circumstances (such as road closures, bad weather, security conditions or problems with hotels) GARI TRIPS reserves the right to make adjustments in the itinerary to ensure you get the best service. You will off-course be informed about this as soon as possible. Payment: When booking a trip, we ask for 30% down payment and a full payment for gorilla and chimpanzee permits (permits can only be booked and secured by paying!) The full payment of the trip has to be done six weeks before starting the tour. CANCELLATIONS: 60> days to start of safari 10% charge 59-32 days to start of safari 25% charge 31-8 days to start of safari 50% charge- 7-0 days to start of safari 100%  Gorilla permits and Chimpanzee permits are excluded from percentages above and are 100% nonrefundable. Means of payment: Payment from abroad should be done through bank transfer to our account in Uganda. Fees for transfer are paid by the client. We accept payment in Cash and Credit cards. During Trip: The animals in the parks are wild so no guarantees can be given of good sightings during game drives or trekking, but rangers and our guides will do their very best to make sure you get a great experience. GARI TRIPS reserves the right to refuse any client behaving in a way that can cause danger/inconvenience to any third party, damage to property, environments or ecosystems to continue the trip. In such a case no refunds will be made and GARI TRIPS will not be liable for expenses occurring due to termination. Vehicles: We put a lot of energy into getting cars that are in a roadworthy condition. Despite this punctures, breakdowns, damage or any other delay can occur due to poor road conditions that are out of our control, for this no liability can be accepted. Complaints: Any issues that occur during the Trip should be reported immediately to the guide and we'll do our best to resolve it. If an issue has not been solved to the client's satisfaction a written complaint should be e-mailed to us no later than 30 days after finishing the safari. Liability: GARI TRIPS cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances that are out of our control. This includes flight delays/cancellations, war/threat of war, riots, civil unrest, terrorist attacks, border closure, acts of the government, strikes, thefts, epidemics, road closure, natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, technical/mechanical problems to transport due to bad roads and similar events beyond the company's control. Health: It is the responsibility of the client to insure that proper medical precautions (immunizations and so on) have been taken.
