A HELPING HAND. A NEW POSSIBILITY.

Kindness changed my life.
Let’s pass it on.

Our journeys are about people, too. We commit 10% of Gari Trips Uganda’s profits to supporting children in need in Uganda.

A PERSONAL REASON TO GIVE

I know what it means
to need a helping hand.

Immanuel Wamba
Founder & Director, Gari Trips Uganda

There was a time in my life when I was homeless, without a job and struggling to continue my education. People came to my rescue when I needed help.

Their kindness reminded me that I did not have to face those difficulties alone. I have never forgotten what it meant to have someone stand beside me.

That experience is the reason I want Gari Trips Uganda to give back. By committing 10% of our profits to children in need, I hope to pass on some of the support that was once given to me.

“Someone helped me when I needed it. Now I want to help create opportunities for a child who needs that same kindness.”

Thank you for being part of our journey—and for considering how your kindness could become part of someone else’s story.

WHERE SUPPORT CAN MATTER

Practical help.
Possibilities that last.

Children’s needs differ. These are areas we would like to support, with each contribution guided by a confirmed need and an agreed purpose.

01 / EDUCATION

A chance to keep learning.

School materials, books, uniforms and contributions towards education costs can help children participate in learning.

02 / EVERYDAY WELLBEING

Care for everyday needs.

Food, hygiene supplies and other essential items can support a child’s wellbeing and readiness to learn.

03 / FAMILY & COMMUNITY

Support around the child.

Working with caregivers, schools and appropriate local organisations can help identify useful support while respecting family relationships.

For background on children’s learning and development in Uganda, read UNICEF Uganda’s education guidance and early childhood development guidance. These links are for information; they do not imply a partnership or endorsement.

WAYS TO HELP

A pair of shoes.
A meal. A year of learning.

You can give practical items, contribute towards food or help a child stay in school. Contact Immanuel first so we can agree what is needed and how your support will reach the intended child or family.

01 / SHOES

Donate shoes.

New or gently used shoes in clean, wearable condition are welcome. Ask us for the sizes and types needed, including school shoes, before buying or packing.

02 / CLOTHES

Donate clothes.

Give clean, suitable clothes in good condition. Tell us the ages and sizes you can offer so we can match items to current needs. Please agree school-uniform requirements with us first.

03 / FOOD

Help provide food.

You can donate suitable food or contribute towards a locally purchased food package. Ask which staples are needed. For packaged items, agree delivery and check that packaging is sealed and expiry dates are suitable.

04 / EDUCATION

Sponsor a child’s schooling.

Contribute towards school fees where applicable and other agreed education costs. We will discuss the child’s needs, school requirements and proposed budget with you before you give.

HELP KEEP A CHILD IN SCHOOL

One year.
A world of possibility.

US$200 / child / year

Our estimated annual sponsorship amount can help support one child’s education for a year at a public primary school in Uganda.

This is our estimated annual sponsorship budget. We will confirm the school, the child’s needs and what the contribution covers before you commit. Actual costs vary.

Education support may include uniforms, shoes, exercise books, stationery, meals and other agreed school requirements. Uganda’s Universal Primary Education programme provides tuition-free primary education, while families can still face costs for learning essentials.

Background: Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports: education access and household costs. The US$200 estimate is ours, rather than a national school-fee rate.

HOW TO DONATE

Let’s make your
support useful.

  1. Tell us how you would like to help.

Email info@garitripsuganda.com or WhatsApp +256 772 392 152. Mention shoes, clothes, food, school sponsorship or another contribution. For supplies, include quantities, sizes and when you can deliver.

  2. Agree the need and arrangements.

Discuss the intended recipient, the items or education costs to be supported, the budget and any delivery costs. For sponsorship, ask for the school requirements and a breakdown of the planned support.

  3. Confirm delivery or payment details.

Agree a drop-off or delivery arrangement with our Kansanga office before bringing or shipping goods. For financial support, request the appropriate payment instructions directly from our office and identify the purpose of your contribution. Ask whether an agreed school cost can be paid directly to the school.

  4. Agree how you will receive an update.

Before contributing, confirm what acknowledgement, purchase record, school receipt or update can be provided. Updates should respect the child’s privacy and be coordinated with the responsible adults.

You can also support our giving commitment by travelling with Gari Trips Uganda. Our 10% contribution comes from company profits; additional donations are voluntary.

GIVING WITH CARE

A child’s dignity
comes first.

Our intention is to support children with respect, care and attention to their privacy. Helping a child should never depend on sharing their personal story or photograph.

Agree the purpose before donating.

Ask who will receive the support, how it will be used, whether any costs apply, and what acknowledgement or update can be provided. Confirm the recipient and payment details directly with our office.

Protect children’s privacy.

Please do not request private contact details, unarranged visits or photographs of children. Any involvement should be coordinated through responsible adults and appropriate local organisations.

Choose freely.

You are welcome to ask questions and decide whether the proposed support is right for you. Making a donation is entirely voluntary.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Before you give.

Is a donation included in my safari price?

Our 10% contribution comes from company profits. An additional donation is optional and should be agreed separately from your safari booking.

Does 10% mean 10% of my booking payment?

No. The commitment is 10% of our profits, rather than 10% of each booking payment or total sales.

Can I donate shoes, clothes or food?

Yes. Contact us first with the items, sizes, quantities and condition. We will discuss current needs and agree delivery before you bring or send anything.

What does the US$200 school sponsorship cover?

It is our estimated annual support amount for one child attending a public primary school. The agreed budget may cover learning materials, uniforms, shoes, meals and other school requirements. We will confirm the specific costs and any applicable school fees before you commit.

Can I choose what to support?

Tell us what you have in mind. We will discuss the needs and arrangements with you before you decide whether to contribute.

Can I see how my contribution is used?

Before donating, ask us what records or updates can be provided for the agreed support. Any update should protect children’s identities and privacy.
