WESTERN UGANDA

Kibale National Park

Chimpanzee trekking is Kibale’s signature experience. Forest paths and a rich variety of primates make this a rewarding place to slow down and listen.

What draws travellers here

  • Chimpanzee trekking
  • Chimpanzee habituation experience
  • Forest birding and guided walks

Plan it well

Choose between standard tracking and the more extended habituation experience before arranging permits. Leave room in your itinerary for the Fort Portal area. Nearby community and wetland visits are separate arrangements outside the park.

Wildlife moves freely; sightings are never guaranteed. Activities depend on permits, conditions and availability.

Park facts checked 25 October 2026 against UWA’s official park guide ↗. Route suggestions are Gari Trips planning advice.
