WESTERN UGANDA
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth combines savanna wildlife with the Kazinga Channel and the forested Kyambura Gorge. Ishasha is known for its tree-climbing lions, whose sightings remain a matter of luck.

What draws travellers here
- Savanna game drives
- Kazinga Channel boat trips
- Kyambura chimpanzee trekking and Ishasha exploration
Plan it well
The park’s different areas need careful routing. Tell us whether your priority is the channel, chimpanzees or Ishasha, and we will place accommodation and activities accordingly. A chimpanzee permit is separate from a game drive.
Wildlife moves freely; sightings are never guaranteed. Activities depend on permits, conditions and availability.
Park facts checked 25 October 2026 against UWA’s official park guide ↗. Route suggestions are Gari Trips planning advice.
