Gorilla permits and Kibale chimpanzee permits include the guide and activity-day entry; Kyambura excludes park entry. Gorilla habituation is a distinct experience—confirm its available location.
Low-season permits
The amendment specifies April, May and November: gorilla trekking USD 600 FNR / USD 500 FR; chimpanzee trekking USD 200 FNR / USD 150 FR. Low-season permits cannot be rescheduled. Confirm the activity, category and travel dates before payment.
Announced changes from 1 January 2027

The amendment also requires full permit payment when booking, replacing the former seven-day unpaid reservation window from 1 March 2026.
What your safari quotation covers
These conservation fees are only part of a safari budget. Vehicle hire, fuel, accommodation, meals, transfers, boat operators, guides and other activities depend on your itinerary. Your written quotation identifies included permits and entry fees so you can avoid paying twice.
Vehicle entry and ranger or self-drive charges may also apply. Ask us for an itemised estimate for your vehicle, route and dates.
